Living in Trinidad makes it very easy for me to be an artist. I paint what I see and feel and, as far as I am concerned, Trinidad is an artist’s paradise. I am only at the tip of the iceberg (or coconut trees) creatively as there are so many things that I still want to capture on canvas – scenes, people, old buildings, etc. I especially enjoy doing work by commission, as I then know that the piece I am working on means something special to someone.
I cannot do a painting unless I “feel’ it – it all comes from the heart, and I truly want to pass this feeling within the painting on to others. This is my way of reminding people that, no matter what negative things happen, there is solace in the natural beauty of Trinidad and Tobago.
